What is #Save22
Everyday, 22 veterans turn to suicide as a way to relieve their suffering due to mental health disorders. Endurance for Veterans is an organization passionate about providing veterans the opportunity to use physical fitness as a healing tool and would like your help in raising awareness about this issue. #Save22 is our attempt to bring awareness to this epidemic and encourage an active lifestyle.
We want to see your creativity. Push-ups, pull-ups, backflips...you decide. If you want to run 22 miles, go for it.
Together, we can help spread the word, raise awareness, and save lives!
Why 22 Movements?
There is emerging evidence that exercise can be a valuable component of a comprehensive mental health treatment plan by elevating mood, reduce anxiety and act as an overall stress-buffer. Exercise can play an important role in helping with recovery, regain confidence and may also addresses many of the health problems commonly associated with mental health, including cardiovascular disease and depression.
We wanted to create a campaign that represents the mission of Endurance for Veterans and brings attention to this issue. The 22 movements represent the estimated 22 veterans a day who take their own lives. Enduring the pain of 22 movements is symbolic and a small way to show support.
